This sweater is based on a vintage Ralph Lauren sweater with two ducks flying across it. I adapted the idea to fit onto a crochet graph for this sweater.
This pattern is best suited for a confident beginner or intermediate crocheter who is comfortable with color changes. It’s also a made to measure pattern so you can ensure the perfect fit- please reach out to me if you have any questions about sizing!!
This pattern was edited by talented crocheters to ensure that the pattern is as easy to understand as possible but if you get confused at all, don’t hesitate to message me on Instagram (@made.in.the.moment).
You will need:
4.5mm hook
10-11 colors of your favorite Aran weight (weight 4) yarn. You can use acrylic, cotton, or another material if you prefer. This is made to measure and you don’t have to meet gauge so it just depends on your preference.
1 background color for the majority of the sweater. I used 6 skeins.
3 shades of brown for the body: dark, medium, and light.
3 shades of green for the head: dark, medium, and light.
A really small amount of yellow, orange, black, and white.
(if you prefer, you can make the beak and the leg of the duck the same color so you’d only need yellow or orange but not both)
Scissors
Yarn needle
Stitch markers
Clips (optional)
Here are links to the yarns I used:
